Private Villa — Ramsar, Iran
This project presents a two-story private villa located within a residential development in Ramsar, Iran, comprising more than 100 individual plots arranged across different rows. Designed at the client’s request, the villa explores a contemporary interpretation of traditional Iranian architecture within a modern residential context.
The architectural concept is deeply inspired by Persian architectural principles, particularly the traditional relationship between interior spaces, courtyards, natural light, and water. These elements have been reinterpreted through a contemporary architectural language to create a residence that reflects both cultural heritage and modern living.
At the heart of the villa is a central courtyard with a private pool, conceived as a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Persian courtyard. Water becomes a central architectural element, creating a calm focal point while contributing to the atmosphere and spatial experience of the home. The courtyard also allows natural light and ventilation to penetrate the surrounding spaces.
The entrance and circulation sequence draw inspiration from traditional Persian spatial organization, creating a gradual transition between the exterior and interior. Elements such as the iwan, courtyard-centered planning, and the careful use of light and shadow are reinterpreted within the contemporary design.
The two-story layout provides a clear organization of public and private living areas while maintaining a strong connection to the central courtyard. The architecture combines contemporary materials and clean forms with spatial concepts rooted in Iranian architectural heritage.
The result is a modern residence that celebrates the principles of Persian architecture, translating traditional concepts of courtyard living, water, light, and spatial transitions into a contemporary villa designed for modern life.
